• Leviticus 27:30: "A tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, is the Lord's, and is holy" 
• Deuteronomy 14:22: "Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year" 
• Numbers 18:26: "When  you receive from the Israelite's the tithe I give you as your  inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the Lord's  offering" 
• Proverbs 3:9: "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops" 
• Genesis 28:20-22: "This stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth" 

 Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42:

• Jesus criticizes the Pharisees for meticulously tithing even small herbs like mint and dill, while neglecting "the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness".
• He states, "These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others," emphasizing the importance of both tithing and justice, mercy, and faithfulness. 

Luke 18:12:

• A Pharisee boasts about tithing, but his self-righteous attitude is contrasted with the tax collector's humility. 

Other Relevant New Testament Passages:
